We have had quite a few incredible timepieces come through our shop in the past 4 years. There are only a handful that we come across that we get very excited about and then theres a Mark V, and when you find an Omega Mark V in this good of shape its like finding a damn Unicorn... In 1914, the new concept of air reconnoissance came into play in the developing First World War. It's application turned from gathering information, into full blown hellish air combat. So the high brass issued extremely accurate pocket watches that were specifically designed for airmen. These pocket watches allowed airmen to know how much fuel they had to burn, and would give them an idea for navigation on distances to targets. This watch was most likely in a Sopwith Pup Biplane in 1916, and were 99.9 percent sure this one saw combat given the tell tale signs on these watches. Please message us for a lot more information than we can fit in this short description if interested.
