How Do I Place An Order?
Placing an order is simple and secure on our website. All of our transactions are done via Paypal to keep both you and ourselves protected. If you have any additional requests: a different strap you would like to put on your watch just send us a message and we will respond within 24 hours on weekdays, the next business day on weekends.
Once I place my order, when will I receive my watch?
If you place an order on our website, we get notified immediately. There are a lot steps taken once your order is placed. Due to the ongoing pandemic orders take at least 3-4 weeks to get the watch shipped. In the age of next day delivery it can seem frustrating, However getting an antique watch that is over 100 years old to ship is a hefty process. Thank you for patience. If you have questions or concerns regarding shipping, please reach out to us.
Your watch is an antique, There is a checklist of procedures we need to do in order to ensure your watch is operating at 100% before it reaches you. All of our watches get checked out before they leave our shop, no exceptions. we go through the entire watch, we check everything for accuracy. It is taken apart, inspected, and electronically timed. the watch is given a field test. The way this is done is old fashioned but effective: winding it up and letting it run for a minimum of three days. If you need a watch faster than the time period allowed, please reach out to us before making your purchase. otherwise the listed procedure above will go into effect. . When your watch ships, you will be notified via Federal Express or through and email by us that your package is on its way with a tracking number.
My watch just came in the mail and its not working?
Here at Doughboy we make sure that every watch is checked out before it leaves our shop and is properly packaged for its trip. However the people who ship our watches have a track record of not being so gentile with handling, this goes for all shipping companies unfortunately. If you receive a non-working watch in the mail just send us a message and we will send you a shipping label. All you have to do is put it back into the mail and we take care of the rest. .
Repairs
Unlike modern wrist watches, antique watches require a lot of care and cannot be handled the same way as a Modern watch. They tend to break if your not careful with them. Our warranty on Doughboys is one year for the movement (the engine of the watch). This covers any unforeseen things that could happen to the watch while its in our hands, we take care of that free of charge. The only thing not covered is the balance staff, water damage, and broken crystals on watches. If your watch falls into this category, send us a message and ship it back to us. We have a great team of CW-21 watchmakers that can fix Just about anything. Repairs can vary in cost, remember that we are searching for parts that haven't been made in almost a century. A broken crystal is a Flat rate of $40 usd to be repaired.
REFUNDS
Doughboy Watches are non-refundable, no exceptions. Make sure that you want to take on the responsibility of owning a piece of horological history before you commit to purchase. We say this because each one of a kind watch is made for just one person. There's something special about having the only one of its kind in the world.
How long does a repair take?
Depending on what is causing the fault in the watch, repair times can vary. . There are a lot of moving parts inside of your Watch. Antique watches take a great amount of expertise to repair. we want to make sure its running the same way that it did when it originally left our shop. since the watches can be up to 130 years old that we have in our inventory, finding parts can be tricky sometimes. Just be assured that if your watch is with us we are working on it. Repairs generally take a few weeks to return back to you The most important thing to remember is that it takes time to repair a watch. We appreciate your patience while we are diagnosing and fixing the fault.
I want to purchase a Doughboy for a friend/significant other, what do I do?
This is a very thoughtful idea, and we like surprising people with watches that are one of a kind and tell a story. All you have to do is follow the normal steps to purchase one of our watches, then send us a message. let us know who the watch is for (full name please) and where you would like the watch to be delivered. if its being delivered to a place where that friend/significant other resides let us know so we can address the package to you.
