We have collected a lot of automobile salesman dials over the years, I have only ever seen two of these.

This is the second one:

The Pierce Arrow company of Buffalo, New York was one of the most revered luxury automobile makers in the early part of the 20th century.  These cars were the best you could buy and over the top, and the darn things were built incredibly well at their time.  If you owned one of these cars back then, you were doing well, very well.

Unfortunately, luxry cars dont work out too well during a great depression and in 1938 they closed their doors forever.  The cars are highly sought after today and getting harder to find, but try finding a salesmans watch that belonged to this company thats been gone for 81 years. Good luck.

Salesman's watches were given out to what the name serves: the men who sold the cars.  They usually were rewarded for high sales numbers or many years of service with a company.  It donned the companies name proudly on the dial. Packard, Indian, Harley, Oldsmobile, and many more were adorned on american watches. Many celebrated companies had them but the luxury brands are the real gems to find.

I have heard stories of these salesman dials.  I have seen photos of them in old books that I have purchased but I've never got to physically own one.  Then one day passing along a table in an antiques store I almost tripped over myself for a double-take, there it was just sitting on a display shelf. Money was exchanged and I its new steward.

Its had a full restoration, runs like a top and shines up quite nicely.  All around an ordinary watch with one very extrodinary dial.

I'd like to see this one go to a good home, preferably one with a 13.5 liter engine...
